“Have a goal, work at it and always remember nobody has the right to take away your destiny. Your destiny is in your hands.” These are the words of Dr. Kanu, VSU Interim Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Education. Dr. Kanu gave this opening remark during the Young Professional Network Campaign to Empower Youth. Mario Van Peebles, director of film Bring Your “A” Game, said that 75% of whites graduate from high school. The fact that half of African Americans receive their high school diploma is ridiculous. The film Bring Your A Game was relatively interesting displaying the statistics and facts of making it to the NBA and trying to become a famous rapper. No one ever thinks about the logistics of things they want to get straight down to the money, cars, clothes and h*es.
